Baro Controls, Inc. is a manufacturer�s representative and distributor for valve and valve automation, instrumentation, water and wastewater products and services. Located in Houston, Texas, Baro has 25 users on Selltis. Here�s what Shelly White, the General Manager of Baro had to say about the Selltis solution.


In the past, I had a system for projects, a system for quotes and I had files on all my sales people. It was very disjointed and always out of date. As a company, we were running four different databases of information. When I started running this division, I saw all the mounds of paperwork that I had to analyze. I knew we had to automate the process.

We started looking at different programs. I looked at SalesLogix, Siebel and ACT!, and it was immediately apparent I was going to have to customize them. I talked to a company that had SalesLogix and they had concerns because the system needed upgrades and took too long to sync. Another company I talked to runs Siebel, and they�ve been very disappointed in it because it is difficult to navigate and not very intuitive. When I found Selltis, I knew nothing else could have all its features. With Selltis, information is complete in one area, and it�s dynamic.

Selltis is an excellent communication system. When I go onto the employee�s tab, I can see what open quotes, opportunities, activities, schedules and projects a person has. And it�s all in one screen. Selltis also allows us to communicate. I send a message and I get a return message immediately. It�s real-time communication.

Selltis is also very good at tracking. I can open up all of the activities going on. If a manager of one of the lines we rep asks me about a project, I simply pull it up on my computer and tell them everything that�s been done. I don�t have to go digging through piles of paperwork. Selltis is quick, easy and organized.

I sold software in the past, so I understand some of the pains people go through when implementing new systems. Selltis is different. It�s pretty much ready to run right from the start. We�ve been really impressed with its ease and flexibility. And we�re using all of the features. Everything I want or need is in Selltis. We have multiple products, projects and opportunities going on in Selltis. We do pipeline analysis and forecasting. Everything goes into Selltis—meeting calendars, to-do�s, activities, projects and more. We�ve cut down on time and paperwork. And ultimately, we plan to become paperless.

Sure, it�s an investment up front, but there�s a return down the road. I believe in this system because it allows me to work smarter, not harder. It�s a far cry from any thing I�ve ever seen.
